Dominic Cappiello was an active duty Seaman in the U.S. Navy from 1991 to 1993. He was a career counselor at the Great Lakes Naval Hospital. His duties included setting up a computer system in the counselor’s office and working with patients that were going to be discharged, in order to find a suitable career for that patient. Dominic is the father of five daughters and a grandfather to one grandson. He decided to start his higher education in 2014 at Genesee Community College.
In May of 2016, he completed his Associate’s Degree in Drug and Alcohol Counseling at GCC. He then moved on to Hilbert College where he will be completing his Bachelor Degree in Human Services this May. He plans to continue his education at St. Bonaventure University for his Master Degree in Counseling. When he enters the work force, his goal is to become a counselor for either drug and alcohol abuse or mental health.
